Cadwell Cooper does it again

Cadwell Cooper does it again! Another race win for Buildbase BMW Motorrad.

Richard Cooper added another win to his 2011 season at Cadwell Park, further extending his championship lead to 20.5 points. Barry Burrell, riding in the BSB-EVO class, took three top-five finishes on his BMW S 1000 RR and defended his second place in the highly competitive championship.

Ian Lowry, who has been competing in the British Superbike Championship, parted company from the Buildbase BMW Motorrad team following the Q1 session on Saturday. John Laverty is currently resting back home with his family following his British Superbike crash at Oulton Park and subsequent hospital treatment.

Richard said: “Twelve months after my first Superstock 1000 victory, fresh from an operation on my arm, I won here at Cadwell Park and took the lap record so it’s fair to say there was a bit of pressure! But I tried to blank that out and concentrated on riding and working on a new setup for the bike with the team and it worked out very well! Extending my championship lead ahead of Donington Park in two weeks time, my home race, leaves us in a good position and I’m very happy. Thanks to everyone who’s helped!”

Stuart Hicken, team principal, said: “It’s certainly been a dramatic weekend! But we leave Cadwell Park with our first and second places in the Superstock 1000 and BSB-EVO championships well defended – with Richard improving his lead significantly. Both Barry and Richard rode very well, giving us four thrilling races. In two weeks time at Donington Park I'm hoping to see Barry and Richard further consolidating their positions at our home circuit!"
