LABC BATTLE FIELD TOUR (BATTLE OF THE BULGE)
Plans for the trip to Bastogne are now complete and here are the details if you would like to come along:
Dates: Fri 30 Sept to Sun 02nd Oct 2011.
Ferry: Please book yourself on the following ferry Outward-Dover to Calais Fri 30 Sept 11 08:10hr Return-Calais to Dover Sun 02nd Oct 11 05:45hrs
Accommodation: This is down to personal choice Campsite in the town of Hallschlag (Germany) N50 21,338 E6 26,409. If you want to stay in a hotel you will need to book the following: Hotel for the Fri night around the town of Losheim (Germany) N50 21,647 E6 22,333 and for the Sat night a hotel in Bastogne (Belgium) N50 00,059 E5 42,959. Point to note that the Road book will take you to the Campsite in Hallschlag.
Sequence of events:
Fri 30 Sept travel from Dover to campsite at Hallschag on the German-Belgium boarder where we spend the night. (Road book to be issued next bike club meeting).
Sat 01st Oct Tour of Kampgroup Pipper route through the Losheim Gap through the Arden’s forests and villages. Ending up in campsite in Bastogne on the Sat night.
Sun 02nd Oct Visit 101st Airborne positions overlooking the town of Foy (Band of Brothers) and then on to the Battle of the Bulge museum just out-side Bastogne. Then make are way home after lunch.

The tour will have a guide who will take you through the battle over the course of the weekend visiting points of interest on Pippers line of advance and positions around the towns of Foy and Bastogne.
The next bike club meeting will take place on the Wed 21st Sept 11 at Balham TAC we will give you the Road- book then, there will be the usual curry etc and the dairy of events for next year should have some good stuff in by then.
