Touring with World of BMW
Stress-free introduction to motorcycle touring with World of BMW
Every year, World of BMW run an 'Easy Rider' trip, designed to be the perfect introduction to motorcycle touring for anyone wanting to take their first ride on foreign shores. Easy Rider tours offer shorter days in the saddle, plenty of free time and superb riding.
On a World of BMW tour, everything is taken care of, from ferry crossings and hotel stops to maps, the best riding routes, selected group activities and meals. All that's needed is to book the tour, turn up at the ferry and bring spending money.
Each tour is led by an experienced, friendly guide and anyone joining the tour will be travelling with a group of riders, some with pillions, on all sorts of bikes – owning a BMW isn't a requirement. Before setting off, riders are given a map of each day's suggested route and directions to the next overnight stop. Customers are welcome to ride with the guide, head off with new friends made on the tour or even fly solo and rejoin the group for the first drink in the hotel bar that evening.
2011's Easy Rider: Rhineland & the Mosel tour explores the heart of rural Germany. It is an ideal introduction for first-time motorcycle tourers and is open to new riders, solo travellers, couples and groups of friends.
This seven day tour has short mileages and two free days to relax in the spa town of Baden Baden and later in Cochem by the River Mosel. That's not to say that this tour is all about being off the bike, far from it. The routes that BMW Tours have selected pass through the Rhineland and Eifel regions, home to some of the very finest riding roads anywhere in Germany.
For those wanting to enjoy more two wheeled experiences, why not use some of your free time in Baden Baden to ride the truly incredible B500 Schwarzwald Hochstrasse, German for 'Black Forest High Street'. Germany's other world-famous riding destination, the Nurburgring, is just 20 miles ride from the second break in Cochem.
With a museum of auto racing history, it's perfect for an afternoon of nostalgia, or even a quick blast around the legendary 14.75 mile road circuit!
Easy Rider: Rhineland: the Mosel is just one of the 19 tours we're offering in 2011, which range from a short historical tour of Normandy through to a 20-day epic adventure through South America on a fleet of R 1200 GS adventure-sports bikes. For those looking for a trip a bit further afield, our popular Finland & the Baltic tour on 02-16 July 2011 is the ideal opportunity to expand your horizons and discover the stunning locations, fantastic roads and rich history of Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
